The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Albert Chalamila, on December 12, 2025, visited and inspected the Magufuli Modern Railway Station and saw the various services provided at the station.
While at the station, Mr. Chalamila visited various shops and then had the opportunity to speak with the TRC management led by the Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Machibya Masanja, where he was able to be explained in detail the organization’s plans.
Mr. Chalamila assured TRC that Dar es Salaam is very safe so that the organization and transport users feel very safe
He also said that the Region is attentive to protecting TRC infrastructure, in collaboration with other regional commissioners who are passed by the SGR such as Pwani, Morogoro and Dodoma
“We have always had joint meetings to set strategies to protect the SGR infrastructure”, said Mr. Chalamila.
Mr. Chalamila also asked TRC when implementing projects to make citizens or communities part of the projects by providing them with small jobs including cleaning and being paid money for doing so will help the area or village where the project passes the community to be able to protect the railway infrastructure because it will know that the project belongs to them.
He said the Region is growing very fast, which leads to the challenge of queues, so he asked TRC to see how they can be part of solving that challenge by building a modern urban railway that will provide services in the Region.
In line with that, Mr. Chalamila has emphasized accelerating the completion of the construction of railway infrastructure to enter the port to reduce the suffering of many trucks on the road and continue to fully manage the project because it positively reflects national economic growth.
Engineer Machibya Masanja has admitted to receiving and working on Government instructions where he has assured the Regional Commissioner that the organization is in the process of building modern railways in major cities, starting with the City of Dar es Salaam and Dodoma.
