The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Alhaj Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has said there is no alternative to peace and has urged Muslims to continue to protect and promote peace.
He said a country without peace cannot carry out any development activities, and urged Religious Leaders to continue preaching peace so that the Nation can move forward in development.
Alhaj Dr. Mwinyi said this on December 12, 2025 when he joined Muslims in the Friday Prayer Service held at the Muhammad (SAW) Mosque, located in Mwanakwerekwe, West Urban Region.
Speaking on the issue of friendship which was the main topic in Friday’s speech, President Dr. Mwinyi said it is of great importance for young people to choose good friends with good upbringing and morals, while urging parents to monitor the behavior of their young people to protect them from inappropriate friends.
Alhaj Dr. Mwinyi added that currently there are many ways to make friends, including through social media, so he urged young people to think deeply and choose good friends with values that are accepted in society.
