📍DODOMA: The Mining Commission Pavilion has continued to be a major attraction for hundreds of citizens visiting the ongoing Public Service Week Exhibition at Chinangali Park in Dodoma, with many coming out to gain knowledge about the mining sector, services provided by the Commission as well as opportunities available in exploration, mining and mining business activities.
Among those who visited the pavilion was Lusajo Luena from Dodoma, who said the knowledge he gained has enabled him to understand the procedures for obtaining mining licenses and the responsibilities of license holders in developing their mining areas.
“Before coming here, I did not have a deep understanding of how mining licenses are issued and managed. Today I have gained sufficient knowledge about the various procedures and the importance of complying with mining laws”, said Luena.
Mrs. Joyce Kitundu from Dodoma said the information she received at the pavilion helped her understand the significant contribution of the mining sector to the growth of the national economy and how the Government manages mineral resources for the benefit of the people.
“I have learned that the mining sector is an important pillar of the country’s development. I have also understood the responsibilities of the Mining Commission in managing mining and mineral trade activities in the country”, said Mrs. Kitundu.
Mrs. Glory Daudi from Kondoa said the education she received has opened up new opportunities for understanding about the participation of youth and women in various activities related to the mining sector.
“I am pleased with the education I have received about the opportunities available in the mining sector. Now I understand that one does not have to be a miner alone, as there are many business opportunities and service provision surrounding this sector”, said Mr. Daudi.
The Mining Commission continues to use these exhibitions to educate the public about its responsibilities, the various services provided as well as to encourage the participation of Tanzanians in the entire value chain of the mining sector to stimulate economic and social development in the country.
