Longido and Ngorongoro collaborate on conservation and tourism

Dodoma: Leadership from the Longido and Ngorongoro pastoralist communities have met with the leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, in Dodoma with the aim of gaining a common understanding on the sustainable conservation of Wildlife and Natural Resources to develop tourism.

Speaking to the delegation in Dodoma, the Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Ashatu Kijaji (Mb) said that the conservation and management of Natural Resources is boosting the tourism sector in the country and bringing in foreign exchange to the country that enables the implementation of various development projects including roads, health and education for the benefit of all Tanzanians.

Dr. Kijaji said the goal of the Government under the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan is to ensure that the conservation of Natural Resources goes hand in hand with the economic development of Tanzanians, so the Ministry he leads will continue to fully cooperate with these leaders and the citizens in ensuring that Conservation and Tourism continues to benefit the citizens and the Nation as a whole.

In addition to commending them for their cooperation in Conservation, he urged them to continue to support the efforts of the President, Dr. Samia in protecting existing Natural Resources and developing them for the benefit of the present and future generations.

The Chairman of the Longido District Council, Mr. Thomas Ngobei said that the leadership of the Council recognizes the contribution of the Ministry and that it will continue to provide cooperation in terms of resources and resources, especially in the process of establishing the Lake Natron Community Wildlife Sanctuary (JUHIZINA).

The session was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, some members of the Ministry’s Management as well as experts from the Ministry’s institutions.

In another step, the Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Ashatu Kijaji (Mb) has met and held talks with the leadership of the Tanzania National Parks Agency (TANAPA) and urged the leadership to accelerate the implementation of its responsibilities in order to achieve the expectations of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan in the conservation, Natural Resources and Tourism sectors.
