WMA – MWANZA: The Measurement Agency (WMA) has won the first-place trophy at the 21st East Africa Trade Fair after being declared the best institution in the category of organizations, agencies and public institutions.
The victory was announced on September 3, 2026 during the official opening of the exhibition at the Furahisha Stadium in Mwanza.
The Guest of Honor was the Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, His Excellency Denis Londo, who represented the Minister for Industry and Trade, His Excellency Dr. Judith Kapinga.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, immediately after receiving the award which included a trophy and a special certificate of victory, the Director of Support Services Mr. Christopher Mwakibinga said the victory belongs to the citizens and all WMA stakeholders who were at the forefront of visiting their booth since the exhibition began on August 28, 2026.
“This award belongs to the citizens and our stakeholders. Since the first day, they have come in large numbers to ask questions, provide advice aimed at improving our measurement services and also congratulate us for the good work we are doing”, he said.
Mr. Mwakibinga added that the victory is a great honor for WMA and is a catalyst that has given them more motivation and strength to continue providing quality and reliable measurement services in the country.
In addition, he encouraged the citizens to continue visiting the Measurement Agency booth until September 6, 2026 when the exhibition closes.
