TFS Improves Tourism Infrastructure Pugu Kazimzumbwi through the Bioniwai project

The Tanzania Forest Service Agency (TFS) in partnership with the United Nations Development Agency (UNDP) through a project to strengthen the biodiversity of indigenous forests against climate change, continues to implement effective measures to improve friendly tourism infrastructure in the country’s forest conservation areas.

In the Pugu Kazimzumbwi Forest Park, one of the most unique natural forests located near the city of Dar es Salaam, this project builds a modern wooden building for tourist resorts.

The building, which is 72 square meters, will have three lounge areas and has the capacity to serve up to 50 people at a time. The construction work has reached 55 percent and is expected to be completed by June 26, 2025 at a cost of TZS 120 million.

Speaking during the work development inspection, the construction administrator, Mr. Fredrick Chakyi said that the project is now moving forward steadily after the pre -existing rainfall challenges.

“Initially the rain was a major challenge, but the situation is now calm. We expect to complete the task within the allotted time,” he said, Mr. Chakyi.

Forest Conservationist of Kisarawe District, Mr. Blessing Mtewa, explained that the investment was part of the TFS’s broad strategy to strengthen forest tourism and maintain biodiversity in a sustainable way.

“This project will help attract local and foreign tourists, increase revenue revenue, and stimulate social development for residents of areas around the Pugu Kazimzumbwi forest,” he said, Mr. The victim.

With the support of the UNDP and the funding of the World Environment Fund (GEF), the project aims to protect the natural environment, strengthen climate change, and promote cooperation between governments, communities, and development partners.
