📍Dodoma: CDICD Group Limited Company has continued to strengthen the value chain in the Mining Sector by processing black granite minerals and producing various construction products sold in the domestic and foreign markets, a move that stimulates industrial growth, increases employment and promotes the sale of valuable products.
Speaking in Dodoma at the Nane Nane Exhibition, CDICD Manager, Mr. Shija Shimba said the company has invested in a modern black granite processing plant that transforms raw stones into various products including kitchen countertops, paving stones, construction slabs and headstones used in cemeteries.
He said mining and processing activities are taking place in Manyemba village, Chamwino district in Dodoma region, where the company is focused on increasing the value of minerals before sending them to the market.
Mr. Shimba said the investment has enabled CDICD to expand its markets inside and outside of Tanzania. In addition to selling processed products in the country, the company also exports black granite blocks to China and other countries for further processing in factories in those countries.
He said the company produces an average of 270 tons of black granite per week, while its products are distributed through sales centers located in Dodoma and Victoria, Kinondoni in Dar es Salaam, as well as various regions in the country.
Mr. Shimba said the investment has also opened employment opportunities for between 90 and 100 young people who work in various areas, including machine operation, driving, welding and other production activities.
He said that CDICD started its activities in 2014 and has continued to expand black granite mining activities in various areas of Chamwino District, before moving its activities to Manyemba, where it is currently continuing with the production and processing of the mineral.
