WMA provides measurement classes to children

WMA-DODOMA: The Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Hamad Chande, has been pleased with the great understanding shown by the students who received measurement education at the WMA pavilion at the 33rd Nane Nane Farmers Exhibition.

Speaking to the students he met at the WMA Pavilion, Dr. John Malecela Nzuguni Grounds, August 6, 2026 Dodoma, the Deputy Minister who was also on a tour of various exhibition pavilions, said it is a good step for WMA to start teaching children the importance of accurate measurements at a young age.

“I am very pleased, these children have understood that accurate measurement is everyone’s right. These are the Measurement Officers of tomorrow”, he said.

When Deputy Minister Chande met the students at the pavilion, he asked them various questions about measurements and they were able to answer them eloquently.

The students from Blessed Mabuba Primary School in Dodoma, who were accompanied by their teacher Irene Ketta, also commended WMA for focusing on providing measurement education in schools, a move that she said has enabled students to explain the difference between correct and incorrect measurements, the importance of reading labels and how to use scales.

“I would like to congratulate WMA. If we continue to provide this education to our children, we are building a nation of honest traders and informed consumers. This is the foundation of a strong economy”, said Mwalimu Ketta.

WMA has pledged to ensure measurement education is spread throughout society through the provision of education to various groups including students.
