The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has sent condolences to the Emir of Qatar, the Government and the people of Qatar following the death of the former Emir of the Nation, the Late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
President Dr. Mwinyi offered his condolences on July 21, 2026, when he arrived at the Qatar Embassy in Tanzania, located at Oysterbay, in Dar es Salaam and signed the Book of Condolences following the death of the leader.
While at the embassy, ​​President Dr. Mwinyi, through the Ambassador of Qatar to Tanzania, Hon. Fahad Rashid Al-Muraikhi, has offered his condolences to the Emir of Qatar, Hon. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the royal family, the Government and the people of Qatar due to this great tragedy.
He said the late Sheikh Hamad will continue to be remembered for his visionary leadership, his contribution to the development of Qatar and his efforts to strengthen education, the economy, the welfare of the people and the position of the Nation in international affairs.
The late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani passed away on 12 July 2026, at the age of 74.
President Dr. Mwinyi has signed the Book of Condolences shortly after arriving in the country from India, where he concluded his working visit to India.
