Regional Commissioner to visit TFF

The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Albert Chalamila has visited the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and commended the federation for enabling the under-17 team to qualify for the Under-17 World Cup but also for doing well in the Tanzania Mainland NBC Premier League, making it one of the top 10 leagues in Africa.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam when he paid a visit to the headquarters of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) in Ilala, the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Albert Chalamila, said the federation has shown professionalism and great commitment to raising the level of football in Tanzania as the National Women’s Under-20 team has continued to perform well and qualify for the World Cup.

RC Chalamila said that these achievements, including the good performance of Tanzanian teams participating in international competitions, have been given strength by the strong leadership that decided to invest and empower youth through sports under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, leading Tanzania to the honor of hosting the AFCON tournament in 2027.

Speaking on the preparations for the 2027 AFCON tournament, RC Chalamila said that President Dr. Samia has continued to improve road infrastructure, Electricity, Water and security and safety in line with the strategy of making Dar es Salaam a ‘Smart City’ so that all events can be digitally scheduled to be able to receive visitors, so he has asked TFF to create an environment for the Tanzanian National Team to perform well in the tournament.

Mr. Chalamila said he has received challenges regarding the infrastructure of the Karume football stadium located at the TFF headquarters as well as the office in general, where he said he is going to convene a meeting of all the Councils to address the issue in collaboration with private stakeholders to create a better environment for developing football in the country.

Concluding his conversation with the media, the Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila, has raised doubts among the residents of the City about the protection and security of the Region as the Government manages the security of citizens and their property regardless of party, religious or ethnic ideologies while discussing the incident of a Chinese man who is said to have been killed by his employees.

TFF President Walecy Karia has explained how the federation manages children in sports from the age of 10 to 17 while explaining strategies for the construction of the Karume stadium with a new system that allows for the presence of sports and business activities.

He has also called on journalists to help the federation eliminate corruption and bribery when there is an international tournament that requires players from those teams to go to the National team.
