The Open University of Tanzania (OUT) has received many commendations from students studying at the University located in various parts of the country, both urban and rural.
The commendations were given during practical training activities for Diploma programs offered by the Institute of Continuing Education of the Open University of Tanzania in various parts of the country.
Students located in Kilosa, Malinyi, Mlimba, Ulanga and Ifakara have expressed their gratitude to OUT as follows;-
First: They commend OUT for enabling them to further their education while in their workplaces and in their nation-building activities while they are there.
In fact, OUT provides ample opportunities for citizens in both urban and rural areas to further their education at the Certificate, Diploma, Foundation Program, Degree, Master and Doctorate levels.
Second: They commend OUT for providing them with the opportunity to further their education while with their families without leaving them. This enables them to ensure that their families have good welfare as they do not leave their families throughout their studies.
Third: They have commended OUT for setting up a good system of payment of fees which enables the student to pay little by little according to his ability. This enables them to pay their tuition fees and at the same time support their families.
Payment of tuition fees in this college enables the student to pay fees based on the way he registers for his study units.
Fourth: The students have given shelter to OUT to enable them to conduct practical training in various areas especially in rural areas while providing services to the citizens.
Fifth: OUT has been given a crown for having good and modern systems that enable the student to access Learning and Teaching tools from anywhere.
Systems such as MOODLE PLATFORM, ZOOM Lectures, Video Lectures, Mobile Libraries and Online Learning Centers enable students to study, gain skills and knowledge while they are on the go while they continue with their work.
Six: Praise has also been given to OUT for enabling students to access services such as course registration, exam registration and fee payment digitally while they are on the go while they continue with their work and activities. The student does not spend much time going to follow these services but gets them while they are on the go.
Seven: In line with these Kongoles, students from the mentioned areas have encouraged other citizens who have not yet joined Higher Education courses to use the opportunities provided by OUT in their educational development. The mentioned areas are only representative of the opportunities provided by OUT throughout the country and even beyond the country’s borders.
OUT is the University that reaches students in all environments and enables them to develop themselves academically.
Conclusion
Indeed, OUT is a University that follows the student wherever he is and not the student following the university.
Through modern systems, an OUT student can start and finish his studies while continuing his activities in the area where he is without any trouble. And this is the concept of educational development through Open, Distance and Online methods.
We invite all citizens of all areas to join OUT to further their education at the Certificate, Diploma, Foundation Program, Degree, Master and Doctorate levels here at OUT because we have brought higher education to you wherever you are while continuing with your responsibilities.
