Kikwete: Discipline and integrity are weapons for national development

DAR ES SALAM: The Minister of State, Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Mr. Riziwan Kikwete has urged emerging leaders in the country to use the education and leadership training they have received for the benefit of the nation and society at large.

Minister Kikwete made the statement today, May 15, 2026, when he participated in the Ninth Graduation Ceremony of Graduates of Leadership Courses held at the Mlimani City Hall, Dar es Salaam, where he also distributed certificates to graduates of various leadership programs.

The courses included training for Women Leaders, Emerging Leaders as well as leadership courses at different levels with the aim of developing the capacity of leaders in public and private institutions.

Speaking at the event, Minister Kikwete said discipline and integrity are an important foundation for national development and that leaders who adhere to these values ​​will be able to bring about positive changes in the country and Africa at large.

“Discipline and integrity, if properly observed, will be able to heal Tanzania and Africa in general,” said Minister Kikwete.

He said the courses, run by the Leadership Institute in collaboration with the Aalto Colleges of Finland and Yale University of the United States, have a significant contribution to preparing a generation of leaders with the ability, professionalism and values ​​of good leadership.
