CCM Zanzibar Vice Chairman, President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has said that the Government will continue to implement major strategic development projects with the aim of building the country and enhancing a better life for the citizens.
Dr. Mwinyi said this, on May 16, 2026, when he met with the Council of Elders of the Central Office of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Zanzibar in a special meeting to express gratitude after the conclusion of the 2026 General Elections, held at the Zanzibar State House.
He said the main task now is to ensure that the implementation of the CCM Manifesto is carried out in practice so that all the planned goals are completed by 2030.
Dr. Mwinyi said that the Government is continuing with the implementation of various development projects including the construction of modern houses for the citizens’ residences, with the aim of removing them from dilapidated buildings built more than 60 years ago which are no longer safe.
He said the Government will continue to invest in various economic and social sectors including health, education, infrastructure, communications, ports, roads, airports and modern development houses.
Speaking about the Government of National Unity, Dr. Mwinyi said the discussions between the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and the ACT-Wazalendo Party are progressing well while considering the interests of the Nation, peace, solidarity and unity of the people.
He stressed that the Government’s mission is to ensure that Zanzibar continues to be a stable country and eliminate hatred among the people for the sustainable development of the Nation.
Member of the CCM Zanzibar Council of Elders, Minister Mbwana Ali, said the Council has congratulated Dr. Mwinyi for strengthening the unity, peace and stability of the country as well as continuing to oversee the implementation of major development projects in the country.
