Vice Chairman of CCM Zanzibar, President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has said that the negotiations to form a National Unity Government between CCM and ACT-Wazalendo are progressing well while CCM is ready to participate in forming the Government in the interest of the Nation and the people.
Dr. Mwinyi said this, 09 May 09 2026 when he was talking to leaders and members of CCM North Unguja Region in a meeting to give thanks after the General Election held at the CCM Mahonda Office Hall, North Unguja Region
He said CCM will continue to carefully and wisely manage the process while protecting the interests of the Party and the Nation as a whole.
He has asked the leaders and members of CCM to make an assessment after the election and prepare early for the 2030 Election as well as the internal elections of the Party.
Likewise, Dr. Mwinyi has emphasized the importance of maintaining unity, leadership values, implementation of the Manifesto, strengthening the economy of the Party and the Nation as well as protecting peace in the country.
He also said that the Government continues to strengthen the economy of Zanzibar through improvements to the infrastructure of the port and efforts to ensure reliable access to electricity through alternative sources including solar, wind and natural gas.
Concluding his speech, Dr. Mwinyi has encouraged CCM leaders and members to continue to stick together and strengthen the Party at all levels.
