The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has met with the leadership of Ecobank Bank, led by the Chief Executive Officer of the Business and Investment Clients Division from the bank’s headquarters in Togo, Mr. Michael Larbie.
Accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of Ecobank Tanzania, Mr. Charles Asiedu on April 15, 2026, at the State House in Zanzibar.
During the meeting, President Dr. Mwinyi thanked Ecobank for continuing its partnership with the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar and supporting economic development efforts.
President Dr. Mwinyi assured the bank of sustainable partnership, while identifying various investment opportunities, including ports, road infrastructure and the blue economy.
Mr. Michael Larbie said Ecobank will continue to collaborate with Zanzibar and strengthen financial and trade cooperation in Africa through its Pan African Partnership program.
