Dodoma: TARURA has been commended for opening roads for farmers, fishermen, traders and citizens in general as they can now carry out their activities easily and on the other hand the opening of these roads has opened up many job opportunities.
This was said on August 08, 2025 by the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Mr. Sospeter Mtwale when he visited the Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) Pavilion at the peak of the Eight Farmers’ Festival Exhibition at Nzuguni Squares, Dodoma City.
Speaking on behalf of his fellow Permanent Secretaries whom he accompanied, Mr. Mtwale commended TARURA for the good work they are doing in opening roads especially in areas with farmers, fishermen and pastoralists, thus making it easier for them to transport their crops.
He said the act of opening the road has brought many opportunities to various citizens as transporters, farmers, drivers and people of various professions as they will be able to use the roads to achieve their activities easily and quickly.
“The roads have helped bodaboda operators and other motor vehicle operators and thus find employment, thus urging them to continue improving rural roads so that they can be passed at all times”, said Mr. Mtwale
In the pavilion, visitors were given various explanations from TARURA Experts led by the Head of the Public Relations and Communications Unit, Ms. Catherine Sungura about the responsibilities, implementation of various projects and future plans of TARURA concerning the improvement and construction of road infrastructure in the country.
Ms. Catherine mentioned some of the Deputy Principal Secretaries of the President’s Office – RALGM who visited the Pavilion, led by Engineer Rogatus Mativila as the Deputy Principal Secretary (Infrastructure), Mr. Sospeter Mtwale, Deputy Principal Secretary (Administration and Human Resources) and Prof. Tumaini Nagu and Deputy Principal Secretary (Health).
