Vladivostok, 18 September 2026 — Tanzania is participating in the Grand Final of the IX KARDO International Award for Culture and Street Sports with 77 registered participants. The award is organized by the presidential platform “Russia — Land of Opportunities”.
According to a statement issued by the International Department of the Presidential Platform Russia — Land of Opportunities and distributed to the media by Mr. Alon Babel, the Grand Final of the ninth season will be held in Vladivostok from 17 to 20 September 2026.
For the first time in the nine-year history of the project, the final is being held in the Russian Far East.
The event will be held at the Main Hall of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) campus on Russky Island, where the stadium has been transformed into the KARDO integrated zone, which combines playgrounds, a skating rink, ramps and spaces for rap battles, lectures and creative workshops, the statement said.
It said more than 500 finalists from 70 countries have gathered in Vladivostok, selected from more than 51,000 applicants worldwide. About 45% of the finalists are from outside Russia.
The KARDO Award was founded nine years ago as a festival of Russian street culture and has since grown into an international platform that unites participants, professionals and representatives of street communities from around the world.
“KARDO is more than a competition. It is a place where young people from different countries can develop their talents, exchange experiences and find new opportunities through sports, culture and creativity,” said Andrey Betin, general director of the presidential platform “Russia — a land of opportunities”.
The program includes competitions in 13 disciplines divided into three categories: adventure sports (BMX, rollerblading, scootering, skateboarding), street sports (tricking, workout, free running, parkour) and street culture (DJ, graffiti, rap, hip-hop, breaking).
In addition to the competitions, participants will attend educational lectures, master classes and meetings with industry professionals, as well as a video competition, a grant competition, a competition for young street clothing designers and awards for contributions to the development of the industry.
The Grand Final is held with the support of the President of the Russian Federation. The project aims to discover, support and develop talents in the field of street culture and sports around the world.
