📍DODOMA: Youth in the country have been encouraged to use their labor, knowledge and creativity to seize the opportunities offered by the Mining Sector instead of waiting for aid or capital from the government, while they are asked to start with the resources they have to build economic success.
The call was made at the ongoing Nane Nane National Exhibition in Dodoma by the Director of Xinda Energy Resources Technology Import and Export Trade Co. Ltd, Mrs. Abia Mafie, who said the Government has continued to create an enabling environment for youth through training, workshops and various empowerment programs, but some of them fail to apply that knowledge in practice.
“Youth, let’s not wait for the Government to give us everything. You can start with what you have and grow gradually. Many successful people started that way,” said Mrs. Mafie.
He said the Mining Sector is among the areas with great opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and investment, especially in the processing and value addition of minerals, a step that stimulates the growth of the industrial economy and increases national income.
Ms. Mafie said her company has invested in copper processing and producing copper cathode with a quality level of 99.99% that meets international market standards, a move that supports the Government’s efforts to add value to the country’s mineral resources.
She said Xinda Precious Metal Resources Co. Ltd began building its factory in 2024 and currently has the capacity to produce 50 tons of copper cathode per month, with its products finding a market due to its quality.
According to Ms. Mafie, the company plans to build two more processing factories in Dodoma region to increase production, reduce raw material transportation costs and increase the contribution of the Mining Sector to the development of the national economy.
She said the investment is in line with the National Development Vision 2050, while demonstrating the important role of the private sector and the participation of Tanzanians in adding value to minerals and strengthening the economy based on industries.
