SEOUL- SOUTH KOREA: THE MINISTER of Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Dr. Ashatu Kijaji, on July 22, 2026, met and held talks with the Tanzanian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (South Korea), Hon. Noel Kaganda.
During the talks, which took place in the Republic of Korea’s capital, Seoul, Hon. Dr. Kijaji said one of the important roles of the Tanzanian Embassy in South Korea is to participate in promoting tourism attractions available in Tanzania.
He said the strategy to promote tourism attractions aims to continue to open Tanzania more internationally and expand the scope of tourism markets to countries in the Asian continent.
Hon. Dr. Kijaji said that apart from the tourist attractions in various parks, Tanzania is rich in heritage sites and archaeological sites which if strategically promoted will increase the number of visitors entering the country as a step and effort to ensure that Tanzania achieves the goal of reaching 8 million tourists by 2030.
Minister Dr. Kijaji has arrived in South Korea to participate in the 48th Meeting of the World Heritage Committee which began on July 19, 2026 and will continue until July 29, 2026 in the city of Busan in the country.
Ambassador Kaganda has promised to work hand in hand with the Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB) to devise better ways to promote Tanzania and its attractions in the country whose people are more interested in cultural and archaeological tourism.
