The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has said that the mission of national reconciliation is to unite the people, strengthen unity and solidarity, and create a better environment for the development of Zanzibar.
Speaking after participating in the Friday Prayer and the opening of the Abrar Mosque, Fuoni Kibondeni, Mjini Magharibi Region on July 10, 2026, President Dr. Mwinyi has urged the people to forgive each other, abandon differences and continue to support the Government’s efforts in bringing about development.
President Dr. Mwinyi has emphasized the importance of mosques serving as centers of worship, moral formation and providing education against social challenges.
He has called for continuing to help orphans, widows, people with disabilities and other groups with special needs, while commending the Al Hilal Islamic Center Institute for the construction of the Abrar Mosque.
Later, President Dr. Mwinyi visited the Lumumba Western Urban Regional Referral Hospital and inquired about the condition of the CCM Western Regional Chairman, Mr. Muhammed Rajab Soud, who was admitted there.
