Natural resources and tourism workers trained

Dodoma: The Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Mr. Bernard Marcelline, on June 09, 2026, officially opened training on public service ethics, mental health and financial discipline for employees of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism with the aim of building the capacity of employees and improving the working environment.

Mr. Marcelline said that this training is of particular importance to the employee himself and his family and the community in general, as these challenges have been hampering the implementation of public service responsibilities and requiring employees to combat them.

Speaking before welcoming the guest of honor, the Assistant Director of Human Resources, Ms. Shani Kamala said that they have decided to conduct the training with the aim of reminding and directing employees on the importance of work ethics in the public service in order to bring about change.

Presenting a topic on the importance of ethics, transparency and accountability for public servants, the Director of Public Education from the Institute for the Prevention and Combating of Corruption – PCCB, Mr. Joseph Mwaiswelo said it is good for employees to refrain from actions that encourage corruption to avoid inconvenience.

He said it is good for employees of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism to be guided by the discharge of their duties that are based on ethics, integrity, and patriotism as directed by the Ministry’s Vision and Mission in order to bring efficiency to work.

He said the PCCB Act of 2007, sections 15,22,31,33 require public servants to refrain from bribery, abuse of authority in the performance of their duties and use of influence to obtain benefits and urged public servants to adhere to these.
