The Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Dr. Jabiri K. Bakari on May 19, 2026 held consultation sessions with aviation sector stakeholders at the TCAA Headquarters located in Banana, Ukonga in Dar es Salaam.
The sessions were held in two separate sessions where the morning session involved owners and operators of domestic airlines, while the afternoon session involved owners and operators of foreign airlines coming and operating in Tanzania.
The sessions provided an opportunity for stakeholders to have open and constructive discussions with the TCAA leadership, where they shared their opinions, experiences and explained the various challenges facing the aviation sector.
Speaking at the opening of the sessions, Dr. Bakari formally introduced himself to the stakeholders and emphasized his commitment together with the TCAA management to ensure that the aviation sector in the country continues to operate effectively and grow further.
He explained that TCAA will continue to work closely with all stakeholders in the sector to improve service delivery and enhance the development of the aviation sector in the country.
Dr. Bakari also explained to stakeholders that TCAA is in the process of improving and harmonizing its systems to simplify business processes and increase service efficiency.
He urged stakeholders to be ready to support these improvements when needed.
He announced that TCAA plans to establish a special toll-free number and a special customer service desk to simplify communication and address their challenges more quickly.

During the discussions, stakeholders presented suggestions, comments and various challenges affecting the aviation sector.
Responding to these points, Dr. Bakari assured stakeholders that TCAA has received and considered all the issues presented and that the management of the authority will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that these challenges are adequately addressed for the sustainable development of the aviation sector in Tanzania.
Concluding the sessions, Dr. Bakari stressed that TCAA is committed to ensuring that the aviation sector in Tanzania continues to grow, explaining that just as the aviation sector operates 24 hours a day, TCAA is ready to serve its stakeholders at all times.
