Arusha: The Chief Executive Officer of the Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA), Engineer Victor Seff, has opened a three-day training aimed at building understanding among TARURA experts from TALIMISEMI, Headquarters, Regional, District offices, Consulting Engineers and Contractors in implementing the Design and Construction project for roads leading to the AFCON stadium in Arusha.
Speaking at the opening of the training, Engineer Seff said the main objective is to build a common understanding on the implementation of design and construction projects to strengthen compliance with procedures, address challenges in a timely manner and ensure the project is implemented successfully.
He explained that such success should take into account the principles of safety, social and environmental issues, time, cost, value, quality as well as operational requirements.
Engineer Seff noted that since the establishment of TARURA, the Agency has never received such a large project, so the training is an important opportunity to build the capacity of local professionals so that they are ready to handle larger projects in the future.
He urged the training participants to study carefully and ask questions that will increase their understanding, emphasizing that the responsibility they have is great and requires high attention at every stage of implementation.
He reminded the project managers to adhere to the time frame, explaining that the roads should be completed by May 2027 without any extension.
“The government has trusted TARURA by giving it this responsibility for the benefit of the Nation, so it has to work day and night”, he said.
