The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, participated in the presentation of the report on the investigation into the incidents of breach of peace that occurred during and after the October 2025 General Elections.
In the presentation of the report, Retired Judge, Mohamed Chande Othman, made it clear that the Commission’s investigation has revealed that the protests that took place during and after the elections were not peaceful as claimed, but had the main aim of disrupting the General Election process held on October 29, 2025.
The report was presented on April 23, 2026, at the State House, Dar es Salaam by the Retired Chief Justice of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr. Mohamed Chande Othman who is also the Chairman of the Commission established to investigate the incidents of the October 2025 General Elections.
After receiving the report, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has thanked the Commission established to investigate the events of the October 2025 General Elections under its Chairman, Retired Chief Justice Mohamed Chande Othman for the great, good and transparent work they did in completing the report with professionalism, patriotism and considering the interests of the country.
President, Dr. Samia has thanked Tanzanians for being calm while the Commission carries out its duties, and asked them to continue to maintain unity and solidarity.
The event was attended by various leaders of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, leaders of political parties, Presidents and retired leaders of both Governments, ambassadors of various countries, representatives of international organizations as well as the citizens in general.
The Commission, was established by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and began carrying out its duties on November 20, 2025.
