The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has instructed the Ministry of Energy to increase efforts to manage all energy projects so that they are completed on time and thus enable citizens to get reliable energy.
President Samia has issued the order, he issued this week while concluding his working visit to Morogoro region.
“I have seen for myself when I go to Kilosa, the difference that was seen in areas without electricity and those with electricity that have flourished for business activities, this shows the importance of energy in all areas of the country”, emphasized Dr. Samia
President Samia has asked the authority of the Rural Energy Agency (REA) to quickly complete the delivery of electricity to all the remaining villages and to increase the speed of supplying electricity to the Suburbs so that citizens can carry out development work.
He emphasized that the presence of guaranteed electricity from the Julius Nyerere Dam makes Morogoro Region the right place for investment.
“Morogoro now has reliable electricity, a situation that attracts investment within the Region.” added the President.
Regarding rural electricity projects in Morogoro region, Dr. Samia said through REA, the government has delivered electricity to 621 villages out of 669 villages and work is ongoing to complete all the villages.
