The First Lady of Zanzibar, Msarifu and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Zanzibar Maisha Bora Foundation (ZMBF), Hon. Mama Mariam Mwinyi has met with leaders of the Zanzibar Nursing Association (ZANA) and held discussions on improving maternal and child health.
The ZANA group was led by the Chairperson of the ZANA Board of Trustees, Aziza Hamed and met, on July 29, 2026 at the Migombani Offices and held discussions on strengthening the health sector, especially efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality in Zanzibar.
In the talks, Hon. Mariam Mwinyi commended ZANA’s commitment and vision to empower nurses, strengthen health education and collaborate with various stakeholders in improving health services for the citizens. She stressed that investment in nurses and health professionals is an important investment that contributes to the well-being of mothers, children and society at large.
Hon. Mariam Mwinyi has thanked ZANA leaders for visiting her and for trusting her as the Guardian of the Community, promising to continue collaborating with them in supporting efforts aimed at building a Zanzibar with better health services and a safe future for every mother and child.
