Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Policy, Parliamentary Coordination and Persons with Disabilities, Professor Palamagamba Kabudi, has begun a three-day visit to Dar es Salaam Region, where on July 19, 2026, he launched infrastructure construction machinery in Ubungo District worth more than 1.58 billion shillings and directed that the machinery be used effectively to solve the challenges of poor roads for the citizens.
Speaking during the launch of the machinery, Professor Kabudi said that the launch of the infrastructure machinery is a major step forward in development since one of the biggest challenges for the citizens is poor roads, especially during rainy seasons, so the machinery is a solution to that challenge, where he has ordered that the machinery be maintained so that it lasts for a long time.
Professor Kabudi said it is important for the project to be made sustainable and productive so that other Councils can learn from Ubungo District how to best solve road challenges by having their own construction machinery. He also urged citizens to participate in protecting the machinery against vandalism.
The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Hon. Albert Chalamila said Ubungo district has started investing in major projects that reflect the real lives of the people, so the machines are going to be a solution to the challenges of the people’s lives, especially in the issue of road infrastructure.
Ubungo District Commissioner, lawyer Albert Msando, said the decision to purchase the machines is to strengthen the road rehabilitation exercise in the district to end the road infrastructure challenge for the people.
Also, during the visit, along with the launch of the infrastructure construction machines project, he also inspected the construction of the DMDP building in Ubungo district as well as the existing Changanyikeni Kizota road in Kinondoni district as part of the instructions of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan who has asked ministers to travel to all regions to inspect development projects for the broad interests of the people.
