Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila and Vision Care, an international aid organization dedicated to preventing blindness worldwide with funding from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), have signed a five-year cooperation agreement.
The agreement, which was signed on July 03, 2026, will start this year and will run until 2030, with Vision Care handing over a modern Optical Coherence Tomography machine worth 50 million shillings to improve eye disease screening services at the hospital.
In addition to handing over the machine, Vision Care has promised to continue collaborating with Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila in the provision of medical equipment, medicines and training to build the capacity of health professionals throughout the implementation of the agreement.
Speaking during the signing ceremony of the agreement, the Deputy Executive Director of Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila, Dr. Julieth Magandi, thanked Vision Care for continuing to trust and collaborate with the hospital since the partnership began in 2020.
He said that before the support, Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila did not have an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine, so its arrival will increase the hospital’s ability to conduct in-depth examinations of eye diseases more quickly and provide results within a short time, a step that will improve the quality and efficiency of services for patients.
The partnership is expected to strengthen health services at Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila through the use of modern technology, the availability of medical equipment and continuing to build the capacity of professionals to provide better services to the public.
