Dodoma: THE Minister of State, President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Mr. Ridhiwani Kikwete has urged Administrative and Human Resources Officers in the country to adhere to public service rules, procedures and guidelines to enhance efficiency in service delivery to the public.
Minister Kikwete made the call yesterday while opening the Annual Meeting of Administrative and Human Resources Officers held at the General Mabeyo Hall in Dodoma.
The meeting brought together Administrative and Human Resources Officers from ministries, departments, independent government institutions and local government authorities with the aim of discussing various challenges in their profession and setting strategies on how best to deal with them.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Kikwete stressed the importance of strengthening communication between participating offices and the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance to facilitate the resolution of challenges that arise in their workplaces.
He urged them to fully utilize the digital systems and communication technologies developed by the government through the Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance as they are important tools in increasing efficiency, accountability and delivery of quality services in government.
The Minister also thanked the President of the United Republic of Tanzania for his instructions and supervision which has continued to strengthen the performance of public servants and improve the services provided to the citizens.
He mentioned some of the achievements achieved in the public service sector as including the construction and improvement of various service systems, the promotion of civil servants as well as the payment of debts arising from salaries and leave entitlements.
The annual meeting is organized by the Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance and provides a platform for administration and human resource management experts to exchange experiences and discuss issues aimed at improving performance in the public sector.
