Zanzibar pledges cooperation with East African Bar Association

The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has assured the East African Bar Association of the cooperation of the Zanzibar Government in strengthening the rule of law and regional cooperation in East Africa.

President Dr. Mwinyi said this, on May 15, 2026, when he met with leaders of the Association led by its President, Advocate Ramadhan Aboubakar, who visited the Zanzibar State House to introduce themselves.

In addition, President Dr. Mwinyi has commended the Association’s decision to hold their General Assembly in November 2026 in Zanzibar, explaining that the move will help promote Zanzibar internationally as well as promote conference tourism and investment opportunities.

For his part, the President of the East African Bar Association, Advocate Ramadhan Aboubakar, has commended President Dr. Mwinyi for the significant development of infrastructure, the economy as well as continuing to maintain peace and stability in Zanzibar.
