CRDB Bank commended for promoting investment in the country

The government has commended CRDB Bank for its strategy to promote investment in the country, especially among the youth, through financial education, investment in stocks and economic empowerment aimed at building a new generation of Tanzanian investors.

The commendations were given on May 15, 2026 by the Minister of Finance, His Excellency Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar who was the official guest at the CRDB Bank Shareholders Seminar at the 31st Annual General Meeting held at the Arusha International Convention Center (AICC) under the theme “Youth and Investment in Stocks”.

Speaking at the seminar, Minister Omar said CRDB Bank has continued to be an example of an institution that stimulates citizens’ participation in economic ownership through investment in capital markets.

“This year’s theme carries a strong strategic message for our Nation. Youth should not just end up looking for jobs, but should also participate in economic ownership through investment”, said Minister Omar.

Ambassador Omar commended CRDB Bank for its move to open a Representative Office in Dubai, explaining that the move has opened a new page in the history of the country’s financial sector and placed Tanzania on the international financial and investment platform.

“This move shows broad vision, institutional courage and great faith in the ability of Tanzanians to compete internationally,” added the Honorable Minister.

At the seminar, the CEO of CRDB Bank, Dr. Abdulmajid Nsekela promised to continue to be at the forefront of empowering youth through financial services, innovation, investment education and entrepreneurship development programs.

He said that through CRDB Bank Foundation and the IMBEJU program, the bank has succeeded in reaching thousands of youth and young businesses by providing them with training, capital and opportunities to grow their businesses.

“We believe that today’s youth are not just customers of our bank, but they are the investors, innovators and leaders of tomorrow’s economy. That is why we want them to be part of the growth journey of our institution and the National economy,” said Dr. Nsekela.

The shareholders’ seminar brought together government leaders, shareholders, capital market experts, youth and various stakeholders in the financial sector with the aim of discussing the role of youth in investment and the future of the national economy through capital markets.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of CRDB Bank, Professor Neema Mori, has said that investing in stocks is one of the important ways to build long-term financial well-being for Tanzanian youth and families.
