The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has said that Zanzibar will continue to strengthen long-term cooperation with Ireland, especially in the sectors of investment, trade, blue economy, tourism and social welfare.
President Dr. Mwinyi said this, on April 30, 2026, when he met with the Irish Ambassador to Tanzania, Ambassador Nicola Brennan, at the Zanzibar State House, where he also thanked Ireland for its contribution to the health, education and legal sectors.
He has invited investors from Ireland to invest in Zanzibar in various development sectors, while emphasizing the importance of developing and preserving the Old Town as a historical heritage and a tourist attraction.
Ambassador Brennan has praised Zanzibar’s development and promised to continue cooperation as well as increase training opportunities, especially in the legal sector.
