The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi has sworn in the newly appointed District Commissioners.
The swearing-in ceremony was held today, 13 April 2026, at the Zanzibar State House, and was attended by various leaders of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, Chiefs of the Defence and Security Forces as well as family members of the sworn-in District Commissioners.
Those sworn in are:-
- Western District Commissioner A, Mr. Lailah Burhani Ngozi
- Urban District Commissioner, Dr. Said Haji Mrisho
- Western District Commissioner B, Mr. Ali Abdalla Said Natepe
- Northern District Commissioner A, Mr. Riziki Daniel Yussuf
- Chake Chake District Commissioner, Mrs. Zuhura Mgeni Othman
The ceremony was attended by the Second Vice President of Zanzibar, Mr. Hemed Suleiman Abdulla, Chief Justice of Zanzibar, Khamis Ramadhan Abdalla, Attorney General of Zanzibar, Dr. Mwinyi Talib Haji, Grand Mufti of Zanzibar, Sheikh Saleh Omar Kaabi, Regional Heads and some Ministers of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
