The Muhimbili-Mloganzila National Hospital has organized a special camp for making and repairing blood filtration vessels (Arterio-Venous Fistula Creation) for patients with kidney challenges, which will be held from February 14 to 18, 2026, with the aim of improving access to quality and safe blood filtration services.
Speaking about the camp, Surgeon, Dr. David Antanamsu has said that the camp will involve local expert experts, where patients who have not yet been placed with dialysis vessels as well as those who have been placed for a long time but the vessels have failed to work, will benefit from the service.
Dr. Antanamsu has noted that the production of dialysis vessels has many benefits, including reducing the risk of infection, increasing the duration of use of the vein, as well as reducing the cost of changing the catheter (catheter) frequently, a situation that contributes to improving the health and quality of life of patients.
