President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi has congratulated and thanked the doctors from the Indian MIOT hospital for the good work they are doing to serve Zanzibari people, especially heart, cancer and stroke patients.
President Dr. Mwinyi, said this at the State House, Zanzibar when he spoke to the leadership of the MIOT hospital in Chinnai, India, led by their host, the Minister of Health, Mr. Nassor Ahmed Mazrui and senior executives of the Ministry of Health, Zanzibar.
He also praised the good relationship between the hospital and the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar through the Ministry of Health and explained that their presence has increased the productivity of the Zanzibar community who need their services.
President Dr. Mwinyi said the presence of these doctors in the country is a good opportunity for local professionals to share experience and build capacity, expertise also to reduce the high cost of patients receiving treatment from the institution.
The director of the hospital, MIOT, Dr. Prithvi Manawng Mohandas said, President Dr. Mwinyi services they provide to Zanzibar patients especially for cancer are radiation therapy (Radio therapy), chemical therapy (Chemical Therapy) and targeted therapy (targeted therapy) as well as heart therapy.
Speaking of stroke Dr. Prithvi said, President Dr. You know that they treat patients with these diseases especially by helping them to strengthen and restore the ability of their limbs by walking and doing their normal activities for their daily life.
