On March 13, 2026, the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, paid a working visit to Katavi Region where, among other things, he laid the foundation stone for the construction of the 112-kilometer Mpanda Karema Road.
In part of his speech, the Prime Minister touched upon the efforts made by the Government to implement various development projects in the country, including this road.
This road, which is currently more than 40% complete, will not only benefit traders who use the Karema Port but also citizens living along the road.
