Tanzania participates in the meeting of SADC legal experts

Tanzania is participating in the Expert Meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Law and Attorney Generals of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), which is being held in Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, from June 01-05, 2026.

The meeting is part of the preparations for the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Law and Attorney Generals of SADC that will be held on June 05, 2026.

The aim of the meeting is to discuss various Sectoral issues and review Community Law documents that will be presented and discussed by Ministers and Attorney Generals of the Government.

The meeting also discussed how the legal sector can support the goals of the Community, including ensuring that SADC Protocols and Legal Documents are signed and ratified on time.

The meeting has set strategies that will help the member countries present the challenges in the SADC Protocol and other legal documents to ensure that all legal documents are passed without affecting the Constitution, guidelines and laws of the member countries.

The Tanzanian delegation at the meeting is led by Mrs. Felista Lelo, Acting Assistant Director of the Department of Contracts from the Attorney General’s Office, accompanied by Ms. Angella Kimaro Acting Director of the Department of Coordination and Legal Affairs from the Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Abdulrahman Mshamu Assistant Director of Legal Services from the Ministry of Constitution and Law and Mrs. Shazma Msuya from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation.
