Mtumba Government City in Dodoma Built Using Domestic Revenue

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has stated that the Government has successfully constructed and completed essential infrastructure at the Mtumba Government City using its own funds, without assistance from any external institution.

President Samia made these remarks on October 30, 2026, during the inauguration of office buildings for various Ministries and Government institutions, as well as the launch of tarmac roads and other vital supporting infrastructure in this area of Dodoma city.

She noted that the development includes permanent multi-story buildings, tarmac roads, and other key infrastructure designed to improve the Government’s working environment and enhance the efficiency of service delivery to the public.

She explained that the completion of these projects is the result of the collective efforts of leaders, government officials, the private sector, contractors, engineers, technicians, and other workers who participated in the various stages of implementation.

President Samia commended everyone who contributed to the success of these projects, describing the work as highly valuable and patriotic—a feat that will be remembered in the nation’s history.

She also expressed her gratitude to the citizens and residents of the areas where these projects were implemented, thanking them for their cooperation and for agreeing to vacate their land to make way for the construction of this infrastructure. She stated that these achievements should serve as a catalyst for increased accountability among public servants, urging them to utilize these buildings and infrastructure for the benefit of the citizens.

She emphasized the importance of maintaining the buildings, infrastructure, and environment within the Government City to ensure it remains a beautiful, clean, and attractive space.

Furthermore, President Samia urged public servants to recognize that this investment was funded by the citizens; therefore, they have a duty to ensure it yields positive results through the provision of high-quality, efficient services, free from unnecessary bureaucracy.
