Muhimbili-Mloganzila National Hospital in collaboration with Islamic Help Tanzania has continued to enable citizens to get surgical services through a sponsorship program that officially began on June 22, 2026, bringing new hope to patients who need specialist and specialist treatment.
In the period of three weeks since the start of the program, a total of 20 patients have benefited from the scholarship, while 15 of them have already undergone surgery successfully and continue with the observation and recovery steps.
The surgical services provided include brain surgery (craniotomy and removal of abscesses or brain tumors), spinal surgery (laminectomy), orthopedic surgery to repair and connect broken bones, kidney and urinary tract surgery (urethroplasty and nephrectomy), breast surgery, skin grafting, as well as surgery to remove tumors, treatment of major injuries and abdominal surgery.
The collaboration strengthens the efforts of MNH-Mloganzila in ensuring that more citizens get quality health services on time, especially for patients who are facing challenges in paying for surgical treatment.
MNH-Mloganzila continues to appreciate the contribution of development stakeholders such as Islamic Help Tanzania, who support efforts to improve access to health services and increase opportunities for citizens to receive specialist treatment that saves lives.
