President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, July 13 2026, has officially closed the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) of the 50th Jubilee, stressing that the fair has continued to be an important platform for promoting business, investment, creativity, the use of technology and strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors.
President Dr. Mwinyi said that in the 50 years since the establishment of the exhibition, it has contributed significantly to promoting trade and economic diplomacy, attracting investors from various countries and giving producers and traders the opportunity to advertise their products and services in local and foreign markets.
He has stressed the importance of Tanzanians making full use of the opportunities arising from the African Free Trade Market (AfCFTA), while urging the Government and its institutions to continue removing the bureaucracy that hinders the provision of services and trade, in order to increase the competitiveness of Tanzanian products in the international market.
President Dr. Mwinyi said the Government will continue to create a better and enabling environment for the growth of the business and industrial sectors, along with managing the use of public resources with integrity and responsibility, with the aim of building a strong and competitive economy.
In that event, President Dr. Mwinyi presented awards to the winners and participants who performed well in the 2026 Fair, and was also awarded a Special Award for the 50th Anniversary of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, in recognition of his contribution to the success and development of the fair.
Early before closing the show, President Dr. Mwinyi visited various booths and saw for himself the products and services offered by public institutions, the private sector as well as participants from various countries who participated in the 50th Golden Jubilee of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair.
