The District Commissioner of Kyela in Mbeya Region, Mrs. Josephine Manase has commended the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) for continuing to collect taxes in a stable manner and facilitating the implementation of development projects.
Speaking during a visit by the TRA Board of Directors led by its Chairman Mr. Uledi Abbas Mussa and the Authority’s management led by Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda, on May 22, 2026, she said that Kyela district is proud of the implementation of development projects resulting from citizens’ taxes.
She said that the stability in tax collection and the participation of taxpayers in various tax issues and the provision of education has increased the citizens’ trust in TRA and made them pay taxes voluntarily.
“In our district, businessmen pay taxes without any problems, which has enabled us to do well in tax collection and exceed the targets set by the Government”, said Mrs. Josephine.
For her part, the Chairman of the TRA Board of Directors, Mr. Uledi thanked and commended the District Commissioner for his efforts in collaboration with TRA staff in the district in facilitating tax collection.
He said the Board of Directors in collaboration with TRA Management have been creating a friendly and easy environment for tax collection, which has enabled an increase in voluntary tax payment in the country.
TRA Commissioner General, Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda said the Authority will continue to facilitate business through a special Business Facilitation Desk, listen to taxpayers and resolve their challenges, where he has called on all TRA staff and leaders across the country to continue providing quality services to taxpayers.
Engineer Bikulamchi has called on local and foreign investors to take advantage of the opportunities available in the mining sector in Ruvuma region, while encouraging youth to participate in mining, transportation and service provision activities related to the sector.
