The Integrated Revenue Administration System (IDRAS) built by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) is expected to bring great major operational revolution within the Authority once it is operational.
TRA Commissioner General Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda speaking to TRA internal experts who participated in building the system, December 29, 2025 in Dar es Salaam said the IDRAS system will greatly simplify revenue collection and save taxpayers time.
He said that through the IDRAS system, TRA will be able to increase the scope of tax collection and prevent tax evasion by obtaining accurate information from all taxpayers, which will increase Government revenue.
Through IDRAS, Commissioner General Mwenda said they will facilitate more business by ensuring that taxpayers are given estimates based on their information available in the system and avoid incorrect claims that have been brought by some dishonest Taxpayers.
“The IDRAS system is going to implement the wishes of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, to require the systems of Government Institutions to be standardized in order to increase transparency and accountability as well as simplify work performance”, said Mr. Mwenda
