WAF, Dar es Salaam: Minister of Health Mr. Mohamed Mchengrwa said the announcement to encourage investors in the pharmaceutical and health products industries in the country is the government’s commitment to move from planning to implementation
Minister of Health, Mr. Mchengerwa said this on December 23, 2025 during a meeting of pharmaceutical and health products manufacturers and the launch of a task force to accelerate investment in the pharmaceutical industry in the country held at the sub-offices of the Ministry of Health in Dar es Salaam.
He asked EOI (What is this, please explain and enter the Abbreviation) aims at attracting local and international investors, facilitating partnerships between local production and international partners, bringing in capital, technology and markets and accelerating the achievement of international standards, especially WHO, GMP.
Mr. Mchengerwa said that in order to speed up the process, the government has set the deadline for receiving applications from those interested in investing and producing medicines in the country to be in March 2026, the change we are talking about is not just a text or a promise for the future because its implementation has already begun and is progressing rapidly, the government has already taken action.
So in that context, I would like to officially inform you that the announcement of expression of interest for investment in the production of medicines and health products has already been issued and published on various websites and today we will hand it over to various agencies so that they can issue it.
Minister Mchengerwa said the government takes seriously the arguments of investors which directly affect production costs, market competition, cash flow and the ability of industries to grow.
