The participation of the Ministry of Energy and its institutions (Rural Energy Agency (REA) and Tanzania Electricity Corporation (TANESCO) in the ongoing World Food Week Exhibition in Tanga has attracted many citizens to visit the Ministry’s pavilion to obtain education on clean cooking energy along with various information on the implementation of various electricity, Natural Gas and Oil projects.
Among those who visited the exhibition is the Director of Clean Cooking Energy from the Ministry of Energy, Mr. Nolasco Mlay, who has expressed his delight at the way citizens are flooding the pavilion of the Ministry and its institutions to obtain various services.
“I am impressed by the great response of citizens who come to collect gas stoves at a subsidized price of 17,500 shillings provided by the Rural Energy Agency (REA) as well as being given education. Indeed, we are interested in this awareness in the Tanga region especially in implementing the Clean Cooking Energy Agenda”, said Mr. Mlay
Mr. Mlay has urged citizens and all Tanzanians to use this energy because it is clean and safe for the health of consumers and the environment.
He said the Government continues to promote the use of clean and safe energy to various groups of citizens including institutions that feed people from 100 to achieve the goal of 80% of Tanzanians using clean cooking energy by 2034.
