Korean MPs visit Dar es Salaam Region

The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Albert Chalamila on August 12, 2025 received the distinguished members of the National Assembly of Korea at his office in Dar es Salaam.

The distinguished members of the National Assembly of Korea who visited the Regional Commissioner’s office and had the opportunity to hold talks with the Regional Commissioner are, Mr. Lee Jae Jung, Mr. Kim Hyung Dong, Mr. Boo Seung Chan and Mr. Lee Bang Woo.

Speaking after receiving the guests at his office at Ilala Boma RC Chalamila said the Region is proud to host major projects resulting from friendly cooperation between our two nations.

He said he would like to highlight some of the major projects under the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) as well as new opportunities for further cooperation, such as the construction of Mloganzila Hospital, a project funded by the Korean Exim Bank through a soft loan, the Tanzanite Bridge project, and the National Identity Information Center.

Korea has been funding various sectors such as Construction, Port Transportation, Environment, Waste Management and Capacity Building, and Korean companies have also been very helpful in DMDP projects, the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system and major bridges.

The Dar es Salaam Regional Administrative Secretary, Mr. Abdul Mhite, said the Region is blessed with many development opportunities, so on behalf of the Government and the people, he warmly welcomes the esteemed members of parliament from the Republic of Korea, where he has requested that cooperation between the two parties continue to be sustainable for the broader interests of the people of Tanzania and Korea.

Mr. Chalamila commended them for their expertise, investment and sincere friendship, and expressed his desire to continue this foundation of cooperation to build a future full of creativity, inclusion and mutual benefits for Tanzania and Korea.
