Tanzania-Grenada relations to provide jobs for youth

PRIME MINISTER Kassim Majaliwa has met with his host, the Prime Minister of Grenada, Mr. Dickon Thomas Mitchell, and assured him that Tanzania will continue to develop diplomatic and commercial relations for the benefit of both parties.

The Prime Minister met yesterday and said Tanzania will continue to use the Fourth Africa-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2025) as a bridge to promote cooperation in priority areas including agriculture, fisheries, health and education to benefit the people of both sides.

During the talks, which were held at the office of his host in St. George’s, Grenada, Prime Minister Majaliwa said Tanzania is ready to cooperate with Grenada and exchange experiences in technology and professional knowledge, especially in the manufacturing and service sectors, to strengthen the industrial economy and increase youth employment.

For his part, Mr. Mitchell said that the country’s goals through the ACTIF platform are to ensure that Caribbean and African countries, including Tanzania and Grenada, build strong economic foundations by promoting bilateral trade in various areas.

The leaders agreed to continue to encourage intergovernmental dialogue between the two countries and to work closely to achieve common development strategies, while emphasizing the importance of solidarity between the peoples of Africa and the Caribbean as a basis for economic and social prosperity.

The Prime Minister of Tanzania was accompanied by the Minister of State, Office of the President, Labor, Economy and Investment of the Republic of Tanzania, Mr. Shariff Ali Sharriff and the Acting Ambassador of Tanzania to Cuba, the Caribbean, Central America and Venezuela and Guyana, Mr. Wilbroad Kayombo.
