The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi has congratulated the Royal Suites Of Zanzibar Company Limited, owned by the Raza Mohamed Hassan family, for their decision to invest in modern hotels that provide five-star services.
President Mwinyi expressed his congratulations yesterday, saying he commended them for being patriotic and investing in a modern five-star hotel with the aim of providing quality conference and accommodation services to international visitors and various guests visiting Zanzibar.
Dr. Mwinyi said the completion of the second phase of the hotel’s construction is sufficient evidence of the success of Government policies in enhancing a better investment environment and the prosperity of the tourism sector in Zanzibar.
He said the project was registered with the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) on December 31, 2015, with a value of US$8 million for the first phase, up to now reaching a total investment of US$14 million.
President Dr. Mwinyi said this, on July 12, 2025, at the Launching Ceremony of the Second Phase of the Golden Tulip Airport Hotel, held in Kiembe Samaki, West Urban Region.
In his speech, President Dr. Mwinyi stressed that the favorable business environment, strong investment policies, and infrastructure development have contributed significantly to attracting domestic investors to continue investing.
He said the Government has improved and simplified registration procedures using the “One Stop Centre” system within ZIPA, where an investment certificate is issued within 24 hours after the procedures are completed.
President Dr. Mwinyi said the Government will continue to collaborate with the private sector to ensure that investment projects have direct benefits for the citizens through employment, use of local resources and promotion of sustainable tourism.
The event was attended by various Government leaders including Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Defense and Security Agencies, Investors as well as various invited guests.
