The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Alhaj, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has called on Muslims and all citizens in general to continue praying for peace and maintaining solidarity in the country, especially in this period leading up to the 2025 General Elections.
President Dr. Mwinyi said on July 04, 2025, when he gave his greetings to Muslim believers immediately after the Friday Prayer held at the Sunna Kikwajuni Mosque, Mjini Magharibi Region.
In his speech, President Dr. Mwinyi stressed the importance of having a true commitment to maintaining and praying for peace in the country before, during and after the elections.
President Dr. Mwinyi said the progress that has been achieved so far has come from the fruits of the existence of peace here in the Country.
President Dr. Mwinyi said that restoring peace when it is lost is difficult compared to the ease of maintaining it and said that there are real examples of nations that continue to suffer from major conflicts due to the breakdown of peace.
President Dr. Mwinyi has used the opportunity to urge believers of the Islamic religion and all citizens in general to develop a spirit of solidarity and maintain peace as the basis for every step of national development.
