Zanzibar will continue to strengthen higher education

The President of Zanzibar and the Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi has said that Zanzibar will continue to be an important bridge to linking Africa with the world in the issues of creativity, research and sustainable strengthening of higher education for development.

President Dr. Mwinyi said at the opening of the QS AFRICA FORUM 2025 held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Airport on July 3, 2025.

The President, Dr Mwinyi said the important thing was cooperation with universities as well as institutions of higher education in Africa and the world, to provide an opportunity for unification for research, creativity and technology to strengthen higher education.

Addressing the issue of Mental Technology Mnemba (AI), President Dr. Mwinyi said Zanzibar should not stay behind in the use of the technology, but it must ensure that it receives its benefits and benefits, as well as to ensure the control of its impact in collaboration with international educational institutions.

Likewise, President Dr. Mwinyi has emphasized that the Zanzibar government has given the education sector, especially higher education, priority in bringing about development, promoting economic opportunities and strengthening cooperation between institutions.

He concluded by explaining the conference in the country is an important step in strengthening African countries’ cooperation, and that it is a platform to provide a collective voice towards sustainable development of higher education, innovation and technology.
