Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner inspects construction of Jangwani

Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila has inspected the construction of the Jangwani bridge as well as the construction of temporary bridges in the Kigogo and Mkwajuni areas.

The bridge will be used by citizens to pass through the construction of the Jangwani bridge, he has urged contractors to complete the construction on time and with consideration for value for money.

Speaking on June 27,2028 in Dar es Salaam at the construction site of the Jangwani bridge, Mr. Chalamila said the construction is part of the implementation of the manifesto of the Revolutionary Party, so he has asked the contractor to carry out the construction to the best standard and the construction should be done within 24 hours so that it is completed on time.

Mr. Chalamila said the desert area has been a major challenge for citizens every time it rains, so the President, Dr. Samia has provided funds for the construction and that the construction of the bridge will be the solution to the problem and said that so far the government has provided the contractor with 14 billion shillings out of 97 billion shillings to complete the project.

Mr. Albert Chalamila has used the opportunity to ask the Ilala District Commissioner and the Regional Tanroad Manager to ensure that the conference ground in the desert area is restored so that it can continue to be used for various conference activities as it was in previous years.

Ilala District Commissioner, Mr. Edward Mpogolo and Kinondoni District Commissioner, Mr. Saad Mtambule, when they participated in the visit, thanked the President, Dr. Samia for providing funds for the construction of the desert bridge as well as the construction of temporary bridges in the Kigogo and Mkwajuni areas, where they have stressed that the construction be carried out quickly to end the problem for the people.

Tanroad Manager, Dar es Salaam Region Mr. Lazerk Kyamba said the construction of the Jangwani bridge is preceded by the construction of temporary bridges in the Kigogo and Mkwajuni areas that will be used by the public during the construction of the Jangwani bridge where there will also be an emergency road in the Jangwani area.

He said the Jangwani bridge will cost 97 billion shillings and the construction will take 24 months.

The construction of the Jangwani bridge, whose preparations have reached 7 percent, is preceded by the construction of temporary bridges in the Kigogo and Mkwajuni areas that will take ten months. The bridges will be used to pass the major construction of the Jangwani bridge where those roads will be closed.
